2025 Social Security COLA

The Social Security Administration (SSA) on October 10, 2024 announced a 2.5% COLA (cost of living allowance) for 2025 Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. 

Over the last decade the COLA increase has averaged 2.6% and was 3.2% in 2024 according to SSA. 

The maximum earnings subject to the Social Security tax will increase to $176,100 from $168,600 in 2025.
