What to Know About 2026 Medicare Costs
Medicare is getting a few cost updates for 2026, and it’s helpful to know what’s changing before the new year arrives.
The biggest change most people will notice is the increase in the Part B premium.
The standard monthly premium will rise to $202.90.
That’s the amount most people pay for doctor visits and outpatient care.
The annual Part B deductible is also going up slightly to $283.
On the hospital side, Medicare Part A remains premium-free for most people who have enough work history.
But for those who don’t, the monthly premium will be $311 or $565, depending on how many work credits you have.
The Part A hospital deductible, which you pay for each benefit period, will rise to $1,736.
These kinds of increases happen most years, but it’s still good to know what to expect so you can plan for the higher out-of-pocket costs.
