SECURE 2.0 2025 Contribution Limits Changes
The annual contribution limit for employees to their 401k, 403b, 457 and the federal Thrift Savings Plan increases in 2025 to $23,500.
The catch-up contribution limit for participants ages 50 and over is $7,500.
Thus, the total contribution limit for those ages 50 and over is $31,000 ($23,500 + $7,500).
New for 2025 is a higher catch-up limit for participants ages 60, 61, 62 and 63.
The higher limit is $11,250 instead of $7,500.
Thus, for those specific ages, the total contribution limit is $34,750 ($23,500 + $11,250).
