Social Security Fairness Act Update

The Social Security Administration (SSA) just announced that more than 3.2 million Social Security recipients who receive public service pensions will receive a one-time retroactive payment by the end of March with new monthly payments in April. 

These recipients were affected by the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO). 

If you are making estimated tax payments every year you may want to consider withholding federal income tax from your Social Security payments.
